Christos Pourgourides, rapporteur of the PACE Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights, will visit Moscow on February 8-9.

Russia is the fifth country which the official would visit during his tour aimed at bringing "parliamentary pressure to bear on states where the execution of the Court"s judgments meets with delays or difficulties."

He already visited Bulgaria, Greece, Italy and Ukraine.

"During his visit, Pourgourides is expected to meet the Chairman of the Supreme Court, and representatives of the Justice, the Interior, the Foreign Affairs and the Finance Ministries," the assembly has said on its website.

He will also meet with officials at the Prosecutor General"s Office, Russia"s representative at the European Court of Human Rights and lawmakers.

After Russia, the official will also visit Moldova, Romania and Turkey.
