"A motor vehicle accident occurred on the Stavropol-Rostov road at 16:10 Moscow time [13:10 GMT]," a spokesperson for the regional center of the Emergency Situations Ministry said. "As a result, the bus turned over onto its side."

The injured passengers were taken to a hospital in the nearby city of Bataisk.

"Fourteen passengers and the bus driver were injured in the accident. One of the victims received minor injuries and did not need hospitalization," head physician Natalya Pivnenko said.

She said the injuries were of medium severity, including seven concussions.

The emergencies official said there were 26 people on the bus, and that one of the injured was a child.

There were no reports of injuries to the occupants of the Mitsubishi car involved in the accident.
