MOSCOW, May 26 (RIA Novosti) - Almost four...

Lokomotiv dismissed their previous trainer, Rashid Rakhimov, in April after a poor start to the season.

After taking Lokomotiv to the league title in 2002 and 2004, Syomin, 62, left the club in 2005 in an unsuccessful bid to steer Russia to the 2006 World Cup. After this, he worked briefly at Dynamo Moscow before taking over at Dynamo Kiev in 2007.

After Dynamo finished second in the Ukrainian Premier League in his first season, he led Kiev to the title this year. The club also made the semifinals of the UEFA Cup, losing to fellow Ukrainian side and eventual winners, Shakhtar Donetsk.

He will be replaced at Dynamo Kiev by former CSKA manager Valery Gazzayev, who signed a three-year contract with the club on Monday.
