Two suicide bombings hit the Moscow metro on Monday morning, killing at least 39 people and injuring more than 80. The blasts ripped through the Lubyanka and Park Kultury stations at rush-hour with an interval of about 40 minutes.

Argentina, Bolivia, Venezuela, Colombia, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Chile and Ecuador issued official statements censuring the blasts.

"Nothing will ever justify such terrorist attacks," the Argentinean Foreign Ministry said.

Colombia"s Foreign Ministry said the country "hopes for the soonest recovery of all injured."

Peru"s government said it counted on Russia"s law enforcement bodies to "track down and punish those responsible for the crimes."

NALCHIK, July 13 (RIA Novosti) - Two policemen were killed in an attack by unidentified assailants in the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria in Russia"s volatile North Caucasus region, the republican investigative committee said on Sunday. The attack was carried out late on Saturday in the village of Neitrino of the republic"s Elbrus district, when the assailants opened fire at security police officers, the investigative committee said. The volatile province has seen a surge in militant attacks against police and civilians in recent months. Fighting and terrorist attacks also occur in neighboring Chechnya, devastated by two Moscow-led military campaigns against separatists in the 1990s- early 2000s.
